I wanna have fun wanna shine like the sun
I have to ask myself why I ever decided to pursue a master's degree. This is one of the most tedious things I've ever attempted. The course work was interesting but the thesis is absolute hell. I thought of Elliott Smith tonight as I held a steak knife in one hand, thinking about ending it all, but decided the show must go on. Honestly, I can barely see. Everything is blurred, I'm seeing double and I'm not even drunk.
I've literally been putting in 17-hour days, sitting cross-legged in front of a computer. My hair is oily and matted, my legs and armpits are hairy, I smell and my ass is beginning to take the shape of my office chair.
All of this so I can teach college. So I can hang out with some cool college kids and inhale their youth. Share my knowledge and inspire young Bohemians. Be the "cool" professor that everyone loves. Offer classes that don't put people to sleep.
Or maybe I'll start another magazine. One never knows.

Us cool college kids need more people like you. So keep on truckin'.
If you were teaching a class, I'd sign up for it.
Of course, I'm in boring *ssed Ohio, so that would be kinda tough...
Keep plugging away on your degree...I'm right behind you!
You're awesome,
k
So THAT'S where you've been. But you've got a reason for the hair and the grease and the shape of your ass...me? not so much.
oh, toni it's totally worth it. your students will remember you forever, which is the best kind of remeberence in my opinion.
we all know you can do it!
glad to see you back. just been lurking and waiting.
It would be wonderful to have a professor like you. I'm a college student and can see that a lot of professors just don't have the passion of giving life lessons to their students. To them, it's another job and they get paid well. So please go on and become GT (Greatest Teacher).
Hi Toni Allen,
Long time. Hope you're doing OK. Just wanted to know how everything is going. Let me know ...
I am doing well. Married, just had a baby daughter, and we're living in Santa Clarita.
Regards,
Gerry Gittelson
