Eat drink and be merry...

I made a decision a while back to let go of the things I can't control. On most days, I do a pretty job at sticking to my guns. On other days, I obsess.

I always seem to think I can fix everything, that I have all the answers to everybody's problems. Since my mother died, I've tried very hard to be less judgemental about the way people live their lives. I also have this tendency to feel the need to take over where my mother left off. To offer advice, opinions you might say. But as they say, opinions are like assholes...everyone has them and everyone's stink. So I will try to keep my opinions to myself (even if I know I'm right).

It's time to put ME first. For some reason, that way of thinking has often seemed self-centered. Well, here I am, baby. It's all about me for a while.

I hung out with some very cool people Friday night. It was Andy's launch party for his new on-line business. I drank some good beer and shared a burger. And it tasted fucking great. I was told this place had the best burgers in town and I figured, fuck it, from now on I'll eat a goddamn rattlesnake if it's the best there is. Life is too short to miss out. I also was given an S&M massage from a very dominant female, but that's another story. After several drinks, it sounded good. And you know what? It was. Last night was the first time I've slept all night in months.

The moral of this story is, try it, you might like it. As Ferris Bueller says, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
