Stonehenge
What did I tell you? My predictions were right. I spent the day in my old stomping grounds-- West Hollywood-- because I just couldn't miss the Fred Segal once a year sale. Needless to say, I can't come into town without running into someone I know. As I stepped out of a local store, I hear someone calling my name. It's a guy who used to play in a band called Split Image.
We start talking, mind you, it's been 10 years since I've seen him, and I ask if he's still playing music. He tells me his band just got back together a week ago and that they just booked a gig in Hollywood which he invited me to (I'd rather have root canal). I ask him if he's heard of The Darkness. His reply, "Oh, man, they're fucking awesome."
The Darkness have shined a light at the end of the tunnel for every butt rocker who thought the stage lights went out for good. Those who realized that quitting their day jobs was a bad idea are reconsidering. Sales of Jack Daniels, Marboro Reds, Top Ramen and Aqua Net are on the rise. Grab your earplugs, they're back.
