I'm gonna see the folks I dig, I'll even kiss a sunset pig
I may romanticize New York way out of proportion but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate liberal California. When I look at the kind of shit that people have to put up with in states like Alabama, Florida and Georgia, I'll deal with earthquakes and the parade of the delusional if it means living in Podunk.
I was sickened yesterday when I read about the all white prom in Albany, Georgia. To think that this kind of backwards-ass mentality still exists scares the holy shit out of me.
In Alabama, they just voted again to keep sex toys illegal. Alabama ranks low in education and violent crime is on the rise, but dildos are a big concern. What's a woman in Alabama to do? Order her dildos by mail and hope the law doesn't catch wind of the buzzing and moaning sounds coming from her home.
In Jed Bush country, anti-gay adoption bills keep winding their way through Florida legislature. Forget the fact that Florida has one of the worst child welfare systems in the country. Kids are abused and neglected, often falling through the cracks of this poorly-run, short-staffed system. But Jethro, I mean Jed, would rather see a child homeless than in a loving gay parent home. Asshole.
"California...ain't it a shame that all the world can't enjoy your mad traditions."

Umm, I live in Texas and our governor is some jack ass named Rick Perry. Jed Bush is the governor of Florida.
Sorry, it's just that TX has a bad rap already we don't want another Bush to claim.
I had Texas on my brain after reading this article in Bust about this conservative anti-abortion group. I meant FLA- I was actually born there and one of my best friends still lives there. She keeps me updated on Jed's latest antics.
yep. earthquakes, mudslides, fires, traffic, riots, drivebys, oj, $500K condos, more plastic surgeons than teachers, but dammit, we still do love it here.
300 days of sunshine and all the dildos we can buy.
I was stunned by that all white prom story and how the locals seemed so unfazed by it. Is this really 2003?
I live in Albany, Ga. and that prom situation did not happen here. It was just reported by our local newspaper and somehow picked up by the national press as happening here. It happened in Taylor County Georgia....wherever that is. We're not all Podunk :)
